Sail to Ski Norway is the ultimate Arctic Tourski & Splitboard adventure For fit touring enthusiasts who want to sail and tour the Norwegian fjords. On this trip, the most pristine and remote landscapes accessible and we move deep in the backcountry To do what we love best, touring and shredding Way off the beaten path! We will take you aboard a Catamaran and set course toward the snow-capped mountains rising from the Norwegian fjords, specifically the Lyngen Alps! The Lyngen Alps, are a snowy (peninsular) archipelago with high steep peaks and deep valleys that drain into the fjord.

We put to at various locations and choose our route daily, depending on weather and snow conditions. After touring it's time to get on board relax, our refresh, a splash around into the icy water, and to cooking together. Those who want can even take a line out and try to fresh fish put on the menu!

Catamaran

You will embark on this trip aboard a Catamaran fitted with comfortable accommodation, and custom to the Arctic climate. On board there are 4 double cabins fitted with a double bed and small bathroom. 2 double cabins in each hull. In total, therefore, there is plate for 6 travelers, 1 tour ski/splitboard guide and 1 skipper. In addition, there is a common cabin in the center of the Catamaran. A small cozy common room where we sitting together, cooking and eating. Finally, you can also click on the deck rest, sunbathe or perhaps spot the Northern Lights from the catamaran nets.

What is the advantage of a Catamaran?

A catamaran is more comfortable and offers more space. You have a better and bigger tender/ dinghy and a Catamaran is wider so it is also therefore more stable on the water.

Tourski/Splitboard level

To participate in this adventure, you must be physically fit are. This means that you 1000 to 1500 altimeters daily must be able to tour.

In addition, this trip is also suitable for beginner tour skiers and splitboarders since we have the route can customize according to the level of the group. We do recommend that you put together a group of 6 people. Knowing each other is a big advantage since you live together in a small space, and you can then determine the level of the group.

CIA

Comfort 70%: You sleep in a small cozy double cabin equipped with comfortable double beds and a small bathroom with shower.

Intensity 80%: You participate in an active trip that requires a good level of fitness. This means that you will exercise at least 2x a week and generally be active.

Adventure 90%: With the catamaran as your base, explore pristine areas and use nature as your playground.

Sail To Ski Norway Lyngen Alps

Day 1: Introduction

On the first day Sail to Ski Norway Lyngen Alps fly your go to Tromso Where you will be picked up by our local partner. Your drive then directly to the Catamaran, where you will board and have a briefing will receive. If weather conditions and timing permit, sail you guys already today to the first berth. Otherwise, you will spend the first night at the dock in Tromso and sail the next morning to the first tourski/splitboard spot.*

Day 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6: Sailing & Skitouring/Splitboarding

For the next 5 days, you will enjoy to the fullest an well-filled tourski/splitboard program in the beautiful Lyngen Alps. Depending on weather conditions, snow conditions and the level of the group explore you the Lyngen fjord and the miraculous mountain landscapes of the Lyngen Alps, with the Catamaran as mobile base of operations. In addition to touring, you will also discover some of the best fishing grounds in Europe, can you get some rest and perhaps the Northern Lights spotting, you can polar bears in the fjord and with any luck you may even enjoy a sauna at one of the possible moorings!*

Retrieved from day 6 we sail Return to Tromso in the evening Where we take one last overnight in the Catamaran in the dock at Tromso.*

Day 7: Farewell

This last day you will ride after breakfast back to the airport and fly you back home with a backpack full of memories of Sail to Ski Norway Lyngen Alps.*

*What exactly you do depends on the weather conditions, snow conditions and the level of the group. If the weather is too bad to tour we will provide an alternative program or do a smaller tour.

Guides

Safety is our number one priority. The guides we work with must meet our strict requirements. In other words, the guide who will accompany you has a extremely good knowledge of the area and the required expertise around avalanche safety.

Safety Equipment

We ask each participant to yourself safety equipment such as a backpack with airbag, avalanche pager, shovel and probe to be provided for the sail to ski Norway Lyngen Alps adventure. An air bag is not mandatory, but is strongly recommended. As is a helmet. Equipment can also be rented on site upon request, and depending on availability.

Insurance

Finally, we require each participant to provide a Proof of purchase of travel insurance specifically for off-piste skiing and snowboarding for the entire period of the trip. An example is short-term travel insurance with winter sports/special winter sports coverage at Allianz or KBF. Call and email your insurer in advance, explain what you will be doing and make sure you have a good understanding of what all is covered and what the exceptions are!  If desired, we will help you find the correct insurance.
